Upward Basketball Season is Over

This was Websters last session of UPWARD Basketball for the year and we really enjoyed being a part of the program and are looking forward to doing it again in the future.
And I am really thankful to all those that were involved with making it happen.... All the coaches and referees and even the youngsters in the kitchen preparing snacks and for the host church, Gallup Hill Baptist, for providing the place to play! Thanks everybody it was Great!!


So, I thought I would share a few video clips and pictures from this last game... before Webster goes off to sign a contract with the pros... heh heh heh


Anyway, Webster is on the black shirt team, his number is 13. The red shirts will take the ball up court where Web snags it and brings it back for a basket! Woo-Hoo!

Ahhh Nuts!

I hear Webster talking in the other room and I'm thinking... who's he talking to...
there's no one else here but me?? Then I hear him say ...
"Chew with your mouth closed you stupid squirrel"

Ah-haaa! So that's who he is talking to!

It would seem that the squirrels have come out of hibernating...

... and are looking for food.

And they are finding it at my birdfeeders!

Normally, I have zero tollerance for squirrels at my birdfeeders.

But this winter has been so bad that I can't help feeling sorry for them. They just can't get through all that frozen snow to their winter stashes of nuts!

So I 'let' them eat a few peanuts.

And I actually think that the cats don't mind the squirrels either.

Well... I had better go put out some more nuts, the natives are getting restless!

Icey!

Well, we woke up this morning and didn't get anymore snow to add to what we already had, which was a good thing, but... we got freezing rain instead! Here are a few pictures I took.

See... It's raining... and it's frozen! Bleah!

The poor trees don't look too happy about it either... :-(

But by noontime it had warmed up enough so it just rained... and then we had streams of water running on top of the snow.

I was hoping that somehow the snow would just get carried away... to somewhere else... perhaps Texas... but I'm not holding my breath.

On a good note though, despite the hazarous weather the UPS man was able to make it to our house and he dropped this off for me.

Happy Happy Happy! I can't wait to use it! I love shopping online... you just can't beat door to door service especially on days like today, eh?

See, I do more than take out the trash!

So, our back deck hadn't been shoveled off since the first snow storm that we got at the beginning of January and I think because we are expecting our umpteenth one now it was in dire need to be cleaned off. I was actually even getting scared that it might just fall off with all the weight of the snow and ice that was on it!

And I usually take my trash out this way and toss it over the deck to the garbage cans below...

But the snow was so high I couldn't even set it on the deck!

Something definately needed to be done, Now!

So I waited until Malachi went to sleep then got the snow shovel, bundled myself up and prepared to do some shoveling.

When Webster saw me heading for the door he asked me 'where ya going?' after I told him he said okay I'll listen for a shriek or a scream. I just laughed and said "Thanks a lot Webster!!" And he said I'll listen for the shriek if the porch falls down and the scream is if you get stabbed by falling icicles! ROTFL!!

Well at that point I decided that I could use some help and handed the shovel over to Web and went out back to get the other shovel.

Clifford is so funny, he was playing with the empty jugs that I had thrown over the rail to put in the garbage.

He was having a blast chasing them as they slid across the ice.

Well, I decided I had better get back up there and help Webster...  it was becoming increasingly dangerous down here ... he started throwing 'stuff' at me!

We weren't able to get it completely cleaned off as Malachi woke up but it is a lot better!

I can at least take the trash out now!
