August 15th, 1913 - May 24th, 2011

It's been three years since I wrote this post and for some reason, at that time, I chose not to reveal it publicly, but my feelings that I had then are still appropriate, so I have decided to share it now.

I'm having a hard time starting this post. I've started and deleted it several times already and I suppose I just need to keep writing. The problem is, it was a family event where we all gathered together and it was good to be with everyone as some we had not seen in a very long time, but the reason for the reunion was a funeral.

My husbands grandmother passed away this week, I had made a blog post about her a year ago February. She was 97 years old and had 8 children, 25 grandchildren over 44 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.
She was a very pivotal point of the family as you can imagine.  In this family all roads led to Mom, Grandma, Great-Grandma and Great-Great Grandma, What a legacy has been accomplished through her life!

She was as sharp as a tack right up until the end.

Where there was always food in some form. I remember not wanting to let her know I was visiting because she would insist on cooking a meal, and not that I minded her cooking at all, especially the chewies, but I didn't want her to go out of her way for me. And when this was brought up to her she acted as if what she was doing was nothing. And I suppose with having raised and fed 10 people, preparing a little pot roast for lunch would have seemed like nothing!

It's funny how the busyness of life can consume you and the excuses make perfect sense at the time... and I do regret not making more time to visit with her, but at the same time I am also very thankful for time that I did have.

great-great grandma 343xx

You are greatly missed Grandma.

Oh this blonde headed little boy
The sweet joy of a mother's heart
His beautiful angelic face
Bathed in radiant morning light
Wears the hint of an impish grin

 Circa 1992

that pleads "I wanna take a pitcha"

And a chewed up Jammie Shirt!
Love you my son ♥

I'm on the Map! (Hopefully!)

I just received a call from google maps... and in in case you were wondering, google maps doesn't sound at all like siri, as she's a she and google maps is a he and he speaks with a strong Indian accent Ü.

I was hoping to get the address for my business straightened out on google+ which uses google maps, as no matter how many times I change it to say North Rd it changes back to old Rockville Rd and that is not my address!

We'll see if this works. I'm not too hopeful though as I believe there was something lost in googles English to Hindi translation of my answer to his question of owning a storefront.

My reply? "A storefront? But I don't have a storefront you mean like as in a store that sells things? I'm not a store but my business is in my home, and I have a studio and my studio is in my homefront not a storefront!"

After he heard that he didn't say anything else except, सब कुछ है सब तय की और देखभाल... so like I said we'll see!

Mine Don't Stink

Everything's coming out up roses!

We were due. So we scheduled to have our septic cleaned out, which in this case the term 'clean' is used very loosely!
:-P

It's a dirty job but somebody has to do it and I for one, am very grateful for the folks over at Richard Whites and Son's (Hi Rob and Kathy! *waves*) for the service they provide, as I'm sure a lot of other home owners in our region with septic systems are also, 'cause let me tell ya, there was a whole lot of bran muffins in there before they came!

These guys have some super heavy duty vacuums, eh?

I'll spare ya a look on the inside, in case you're eating lunch or something ;-)

I was surprised as it didn't take more than a few minutes before he had all the hatches battened down again and was  back on his way to his next assignment.

The mission of the unsung superhero saving innocent neighborhoods from villainous odorous effluence.
Heh heh!

Just Keepin' it Real Folks

Throwback Thursdays

Ahhhh, green grass and freshly painted tootsies!

Taken April 13, 2011, we were in Washington State (living on the East coast you always need to clarify which Washington you are referring to).
It was my mommies birthday isn't she so cute!

I Love her so much! Anyway us girls had all gone out to get a pedicure.

We had so much fun... some of us more than others hehe!

The shop had just opened and we got to use the brand new massage chairs. They massaged every part of your body from your ankles to your neck and every place in between.
And I do mean everyplace in between, to say the least, it was a very, Very strange experience if not downright violating!

We were all 'cracking' up over the 'buttock massage' hehehe!

Thank God we could shut that part of the massage off otherwise we may never have ended up with these pretty piggies.

Can you guess whose feet are whose
