I'm Cooking! Again!! Ü

Well, here is the steak tips and asparagus that we cooked on the grill.

010x

I marinaded the steaks all afternoon before grilling using this recipe that I got from this website!

If you like marinating and grilling I highly recommend you check it out. They have some fabulous recipes!
Herby Steak Marinade with Garlic and Lemon

Ingredients -

1 teaspoon oregano
1 chopped onion
1 teaspoon dried thyme
1 teaspoon garlic salt
¼ cup vegetable oil
½ teaspoon black pepper
½ teaspoon celery salt
½ cup lemon juice

Preparation:

Mix all the marinade ingredients together and pour this mixture over the meat in a *glass dish.
Turn the steak a few times to cover it with the marinade then cover the dish and let the meat marinate overnight or for at least 6 hours.
*I used a plastic container with a sealed lid and keep it in the refridgerator, it makes it easier as I like to turn the container over every so often to coat the meat.

Discard the marinade and cook the steak.

This lemon and garlic marinade is a very flavorful and the garlic salt and celery salt add even more flavor. If you do not have these flavored salts on hand, you can just substitute regular salt instead and perhaps use some garlic powder or a clove of crushed garlic in the recipe. The end taste will be very similar.

Easy steak marinades do not come much simpler than this delicious recipe because you just have to marinate the steak in the combined ingredients and leave it for a while. The lemon juice in this steak marinade recipe is great for tenderizing the meat and the onion works nicely with it to add a distinctive flavor.

And the asparagus was very easy as I just tossed it together in a ziplock bag with some balsamic vinagrette dressing (but I have also used italian and both are good) and placed them directly on the grill; and using tongs I would scoop and flip to turn them so they would cook evenly on all sides.

And I made macaroni salad also.

Macaroni Salad 008x

I really didn't use a recipe for this so I can't tell you exact measurements but I can tell you the ingredients! Ü

1 - 1 lb package small shells cooked
I mix these next ingredients in a seperate small bowl before adding to the macaroni.

1 to 1 1/2 cups mixed Miracle whip/Mayo combo or more so that the salad is moist (I love Helman's which I believe is the same company as Best Foods out west, but it is my favorite)
Mustard probably 1 - 2 tablespoons
1/2 teaspoon celery seed
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/8 Cup Dehydrated Onions
And 1 pint jar of homemade Bread and Butter Pickles drained and chopped!

Now I did add a bit of cayenne for a kick and a bit more sugar as I like it sweeter than my homemade pickles can provide, using store bought may be sweet enough I don't know.
I like to err on the side of caution and taste it as I go, as you can always tweak it more but you rarely can tweak it less!

Then mix macaroni with the dressing and add 5 chopped, boiled eggs and use two sliced eggs for garnishing the top. Then sprinkle with paparika to make it look pretty!
